Everyone should love their mother. To do anything but is a sin against ones own nature. I know not all mothers are perfect. In fact, some might be straight up evil. But our mother IS perfect. The giver of life and sustainment. She feeds us, protects us, bathes us, and gives us endless opportunity to grow, learn, and experience all the beauty that life has to offer. Why then do we hate her? Why do we seem intent on killing her? Why have we forsaken our relationship with her and the rest of our family?
Everyone has a breaking point. No matter who or what you are, you can be broken. It's only a matter of time. So how will you react when you are broken? Will you lash out? Will you seek vengeance? Will you give up, whither, and die? Many of us don't know, because we have never been broken. Unfortunately, some of us do know, because some of us have been broken. Not all of mothers children respect each other, or respect her.
Mother is going to break. It's not if, it's when. It might happen soon, or it might not, but it will happen. Are we, her children going to push her to that point sooner rather than later? It certainly seems that way. It feels as though we have lost all means of respect for our mother and we don't care what happens to her. How will she react? She might give up. Or she might decide that her children have to be punished. Extinguished. Erased. Maybe humanity is the child that just can't get it together. Eventually the parents give up. Maybe they will always love their child, but they have lost hope that they are capable of anything except ruin.
It's not hard to come back home. It's hard to convince our brothers and sisters to join us. It must be done. Or else...
In the midnight hour she gave birth to a babe
It was beautiful, smart, and strong
She loved the babe, every night and day
She thought he'd never do wrong
Unfortunately for mother, babe ran away
He had left her and ran from home
Attempts were made, but try as she may
Her babe was determined to roam
Now the night is coming, mother is sick
Babe has forgetting his mom
Babe sews poison and decay, such a cruel trick
To top it off, he detonates a bomb
Now mother is crushed, her spirit is dying
Babe has called for her death
She's so confused, she cannot stop crying
Babe must take his last breath

This is so heartfelt. We should appreciate our mothers more, we only have one after all.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that we think about how our mother's will be gone one day. It feels like they'll always be there for us, holding us, and helping us.
