Christmas time

It's that time of year again. Time for spending money, seeing your family maybe a little too much, and dealing with either empty shelves or ridiculous lines at the stores. Christmas is definitely not all it's cracked up to be. The decorations and everything look nice but besides that it seems to be more of a hassle than anything. It is nice to see the happy kids though. I think that part is probably the only thing that keeps this holiday alive. My favorite part of Christmas though, and this might sound strange to some, is work. This time of year is the absolute best time to be in the ARMY. We practically shut down for about two weeks and even if you do go into work, you will get off very early and will probably just BS while your there anyways. It's days like this that make me pretty sure I want to be a lifer. Than again things can go the other way too, you can be working crazy hours on the busy days and never get home on time. Most of all though let's remember those of us that have no choice about what they are doing for the holidays. Lets remember all of those people that are hoping the DFAC puts on a decent spread this year. The people that have no one to see on Christmas morning besides the same faces they have been looking at for the past 8 months. Lets remember that when YOU wake up on Christmas morning and it's peaceful, you don't hear any gunfire, no bombs are going off, and your family is safe, remember that the only reason this life of yours is possible is because of our deployed soldier's.
