Someone please save our nation

I hate election time. I don't see how the USA (allegedly the best country in the world?), can justify spending millions of dollars on campaigns when our economy is in the dirt and people are homeless and hungry. Then we watch the candidates argue back and forth about who knows best. It sounds like my 3 and 4 year old.

"My race car is faster!"

"No my race car is faster!"

Then candidates give party speeches and make commercials talking about how stupid his opponent is. Furthermore, you have paid off media outlets acting as party henchmen. I don't know. It doesn't sound like a very good system to me. 

I'm not saying I have a better idea and more likely than not, it's going to take something really bad happening before the system changes at all. Either way, it's broken. I refuse to pay attention because it's annoying. I will not participate as long as this party back and forth nonsense exists.
