As many of you that use Blogger have already found out, something is amiss with the Amazon gadget that so many of us used. What is the deal here? The Amazon tool was a great way for bloggers to give their audiences a visualization of products they discussed. It also allowed readers to quickly access said product and purchase it, if they so desired. The Amazon gadget made it possible for bloggers to earn a little money, readers to conveniently check out suggested products, and boost Amazon sales as well. Buy yourself some stock in Amazon and it's pretty much a win-win situation all the way around.
For some reason, this is no longer the case. Blogger is transferring to a new interface, but you can still access the original interface. On the new setup the Amazon tool is not present at all. With the old setup, the tool is still there but it no longer works. Amazon has been contacted about this issue and they have clearly stated that there are no problems on their end, the problem is on the Blogger side of the house. There is a problem with this issue. The problem is not the actual problem.....if that makes any sense to you. The problem is that Blogger fails to give any information at all on what is going on here. It appears as though Amazon has been quite helpful, but our dear writing hosts won't even give us the time of day regarding this topic. I have searched up and down the Internet, looking for an answer to this question and I have yet to find anything. Do you realize how rude, unprofessional, and annoying that is? If a store that you liked to shop up suddenly stopped providing a very useful item, and wouldn't give you any information as to why, regardless of how many people asked, then most of us would say "F" that place and stop going there. It seems like many bloggers would like to do just that. The only thing stopping them is that they like the way their blogs are set up and they have put a lot of time into them. They don't want to move everything to another site and they definitely don't want to start from scratch.
Blogger please get it together. If your doing away with the Amazon gadget, at least have enough common courtesy to let your users know and maybe give them a little insight into the reason for such actions.
I know it's not much but a Facebook page has been started regarding this issue as well. The more "likes" it gets, the more it will be noticed. Please support this issue and maybe things will get back on track. Shoot, even if you don't blog, do me a favor and "like" it anyways.
